We all have been there, been with a friend who is going through a hard time. When you reach out for help it feels like the right thing to do at the time, but as you can see from this quote you probably left with a bad taste in your mouth. It didn’t matter if they were going through a break up, death of a loved one, or financial problems. When you reach out to someone with a problem it doesn’t mean that they will never be able to get back on their feet, it just means that they will need a bit more help than you had realized.

It also means that maybe the situation is bigger than you thought, and more needs to be done. You can help by being there for them, but more needs to be done than just listening and offering support.
